Have a puddle in your yard or damaged foundation? You may have a slab leak that needs to be taken care of immediately. Call us now at so we can help you resolve the issue as easily and painlessly as possible.
Pipes often run under and through the concrete foundation of a house. They are out of sight and out of mind, until one of them begins to leak. Damp spots on carpet may be noted, or a higher-than-normal water bill. Sometimes water can be heard running under the floor.
Now what? Does the slab foundation need to be replaced? That could be very costly and create a mess!
McAtee knows that a home or business is often a person’s largest investment, and the foundation under it is an absolute necessity. The slab leak should be addressed immediately, as water can cause serious damage to a residence or business if leaks are allowed to continue.
What You Can Expect
Here’s how it works. Slab leaks can occur when pipes corrode with hard water or when the foundation of a building shifts somewhat. An experienced technician from McAtee LLC will visit your location and use high-tech video inspection to pinpoint the exact location of the slab leak. Upon calculating the cost of repairs, the technician will provide a free estimate for the work.
A technique called slab jacking is then performed to repair the leak and save the original concrete slab foundation. Small holes are bored in the concrete slab and a slurry mixture is forced beneath the concrete, which raises or ‘floats’ the slab to a level position.
When the slurry hardens a portion of the concrete above the broken pipe is saw cut and removed. Upon removal of this portion of concrete, the defective piping can be reached and effectively repaired by a licensed plumber. A code-approved material is then back-filled into the area of the repair and the cement replaced.
The process of slab-jacking and plumbing repair can save a homeowner thousands of dollars and a large investment in time and landscaping. However, only very experienced plumbers and contractors like those at Mcatee are qualified to do this type of repair for you.
They are state and locally licensed and can provide you excellent workmanship in a timely and cost-effective manner.
