Dangers Of Tree Roots In Your Sewer Line

Columbus PlumberThere are many dangers that arise from tree roots in your sewer line. Many homeowners are not aware of the extensive damage that has taken place until more malfunctions from tree roots in the sewer lines occur. You may not be aware of all of the dangers, but it will be in your best interest to have this issue corrected as soon as possible. There are 5 different tree types that are able to locate and use water vapor that leaks from pipes. These tree types are:

• Elm
• Poplar
• Ash
• Birch
• Willow

Each of these trees has an outstanding demand for water and will use all of the resources that are available for receiving all of the nutrients they require. Many problems occur from tree roots being in your sewer line. Once the roots of the tree have made their way into the pipes, the problems do not end there. If you do not correct this issue, the roots will continue to grow and cause more problems. Once this happens, the mass of roots will become coated with grease, toilet tissue, and similar debris from your home.

Unless the situation is properly repaired, the roots of the tree will continue to grow and cause more problems. As the roots in a pipe continue to grow, they will also expand. When tree roots expand within the pipes, they exert maximum force of pressure, which can break the pipe. Once pipes break, it could collapse and cause other pipes to encounter issues. Pipes that have been structurally damaged will need to be repaired immediately or replaced.

Avoiding These Dangers: PVC pipe if one type of pipe that is resistant to tree root intrusions. There are several different types of pipes that are available, such as clay, no-corrode, and concrete. These pipes are susceptible to tree root intrusion. PVC pipe is the best to use to prevent roots from growing within your pipes and sewer line.

Making Repairs: Repairing these errors could cost a lot of money. It is in your best interest to make repairs as soon as possible. The longer you wait to make repairs, the more damage can occur, and it will cost you an astronomical amount of money to make the necessary repairs.
